Sign up for Haywood Alerts at alerts.haywoodcountync.gov. County government, emergency services, health, law enforcement, and the towns all push notices through this one system — pick phone call, text, email, or all three.
Wireless Emergency Alerts — the ones that buzz every phone in range during a tornado warning or an Amber Alert — work automatically with no signup. Emergency and Amber Alerts can technically be turned off in your phone’s settings, but the county specifically recommends against doing that.
Want a dedicated weather radio too? NOAA broadcasts continuously on a dedicated weather-radio frequency, 162.525 — that needs its own receiver, bought separately, not your phone.
